Diplomatic Dress Code Regulations for S.MUN

As S.MUN is a diplomatic competition, our core focus is to deliver comprehensive and detailed diplomatic training while requiring strict compliance from all Delegates.

Rigorous adherence to regulations not only instills professionalism and meticulous attention to detail among Delegates throughout S.MUN, but also upholds the overarching integrity and standards of the program.

Furthermore, given the participation of international Delegates and the hosting of S.MUN at distinguished diplomatic venues, full compliance with diplomatic dress standards is of paramount importance.

Important Notice: Any Delegate who fails to adhere to the prescribed diplomatic dress code will be denied entry to Security Zone Level F and will be unable to participate in S.MUN. Therefore, you are requested to read the following regulations thoroughly and comply with them strictly:

  1. Full compliance with diplomatic dress protocol must strictly adhere to the guidelines set forth in the publication "Diplomacy and Diplomatic Work" by Prof. Dr. Vu Duong Huan, published in 2018 by the Truth National Political Publishing House.

  2. For Male Delegates: Must wear a solid, dark-colored suit (vest) with matching jacket and trousers, paired with a dress shirt underneath, a dark necktie, and formal leather dress shoes (Oxford or Derby). Attire must be neatly pressed and maintained without wrinkles or dishevelment. Patterned or bright-colored shirts, as well as athletic footwear, are strictly prohibited.

  3. For Female Delegates: Must wear a solid, dark-colored business dress (NOT an evening gown) with sleeves, or a dark suit/blazer paired with a skirt. All dresses and skirts must fall below the knee. Formal closed-toe high heels or pumps are required. Light- or bright-colored attire, evening gowns, and athletic footwear are strictly prohibited.

  4. Delegates are strongly encouraged to submit photos of their attire in advance to their Advisor for review and guidance, thereby preventing any risk of being denied entry to Security Zone Level F during the event or facing disqualification from participation.
